Emilie, my niece, was born June 16, 1982. Pastor Gene and I were there when she was born. Everything was fine, it was getting late, so we decided to go home.
We hadn’t been home for very long and the phone rang. My brother-in-law was crying on the phone saying, “Our baby is dying, she’s gone into fetal distress.”
Pastor Gene went back to the hospital and he and my brother-in-law prayed for her.
Meanwhile, the hospital had called Birmingham to explain the situation, and they sent a helicopter to pick her up and take her back to Birmingham. Pastor Gene and my brother-in-law followed her to Birmingham.
They stayed about a week going to the hospital every day. After a couple of days being there, she started to improve. Pastor Gene asked, “When did she make the turnaround?”
They said, “Before we left Gadsden, but we came for a baby, so we took a baby.”
In the natural it didn’t look good. Some would’ve thrown up their hands and ask, “Why me, God?” But we never even thought that.
We never said anything against God’s Word. We knew God was for us and we knew He would heal our niece.
End of Story - Emilie Amanda went home at the end of that week, a healthy, normal baby. Praise the Lord!
