James 1:22,25 Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to His word; instead, put it into practice. But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets people free and keep on paying attention to it and do not simply listen and then forget it but put it into practice—you will be blessed by God in what you do.
If we apply the Word to our life every day, we’re walking in the blessing God has provided. To have knowledge of the Word is great but that knowledge is worth nothing if not put into use.
Practicing the Word means being a doer of the Word.
There are Christians that talk about the Word and even ones that rejoice about the Word. But they don’t actually do it.
Practice being a doer of the Word. Under every circumstance, do what the Word of God tells you to do.
Under the New Covenant, we have only one commandment—the commandment of love.
If you love someone, you won’t steal from him. You won’t lie about him. The Bible says that love is the fulfilling of all the law. So, if you’re a doer of the Word, you will walk in love.
It’s a choice to be a doer of the Word. It’s like verse 22 says, “Put it into practice every day.”
