Our Reflection

James 1:24 You perceive (understand, discover) how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin. 

The Word of God is our true reflection. It’s not the color of our hair or eyes, the shape of our face, these are our natural features, what we inherited from our parents.

So, as a Christian, we look into the Word of God to see what we look like, to see what we are, who we are and what we have.

Because when we’re born again, we’re citizens of a different country, a different civilization, a different government. So, we must learn what part we’re to be in this new life through Jesus.

Just like work - you learn how to operate within your workplace with rules: being on time, learning what your position requires, dress code. Then you learn about the benefits, raises, bonuses, paid vacations.

And there are consequences to pay if you don’t follow the rules. You could be warned, reprimanded, or fired.

But, if you follow the rules, look to the Word, see what you look like and operate in it you’ll be blessed.
