Faithfulness is Being There

Proverbs 20:6 Many a man proclaims his own loyalty and goodness. But who can find a faithful and trustworthy man?

Everyone likes to think they’re faithful. I’ll be there; you can count on me. I’m trustworthy, I’m faithful.

You’d be surprised in the church how many have said, “I’ll be here no matter what. I’ll be there; you can count on me.  This is my church. I’ll be faithful to this church as long as I live. God brought me here you can’t make me leave.” The people that said these things aren’t here anymore. Do you call that faithful no matter what?

Everyone isn’t faithful. Faithful people are rare. Everybody isn’t reliable, everybody isn’t trustworthy.

But you’re not responsible for them, you are responsible for yourself. You can make up your mind and with God’s help you can choose to be one of the faithful ones. And you’ll be one that will hear: “Well, done good & faithful servant”.
