I am Grateful

1 Timothy 1:12 I am grateful to the One who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful.

When we started the church, I taught the kids from nursery to youth, copied tapes, obtained praise and worship music, cleaned the toilet, swept the floor, dusted the furniture, vacuumed the carpet, led intercessory prayer every day and was the secretary. I enjoyed every minute of it. I was faithful to do what needed to be done. I was so excited and grateful that we were doing something for God, I didn’t even think about how much it was.

After we got in the “New Building” most of those positions were filled. I continued leading intercessory prayer every day and some other things. We had been here for about 2 years, and Pastor Gene came to me and told me he was going to put me on the payroll. 

I had been doing it free for about 6 years. A payday never entered my mind. I thought WOW, I’m getting paid for what I was called to do, working for God.
