What are We Worth

1 Corinthians 6:20a You have been purchased at a great price.

The value of something is determined by the purchaser.

We go after what we value. It could be cars, houses, sports, clothes, or the biggest TV.

Being a good steward (a wise shopper), you’re always going to pay what something is worth or less. Right?  If that big 85” TV is worth $500.00, you’re not going to pay $2,000.00 for it.

Mark McGuire’s 70th home run ball sold at auction for $2.7 million. This person was willing to pay that much for a baseball but that’s what it was worth to him.

So, the value of something is in the eyes of the person who wants it and he determines how much it’s worth.

People have put value on the things of this world. Those values often shift from high to low depending on the demand.

God is the only One who sets the standard for worth in this universe, not man. God gave Jesus as the ransom for us that no one and nothing else could have purchased.

Because God said in Psalm 49:8 A human life costs too much to buy it back. Nobody could ever pay enough.

God valued us so highly he purchased us with Jesus.
