Commitment to God

1 Kings 8:61 May your hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God, in order for you to walk in His regulations and to keep His commands.

A Commitment is a solemn promise or agreement to do something.

We’ve made a commitment in marriage; a commitment to raising our children; a commitment to our jobs and doing it well; a commitment to family and friends.

A commitment is a promise. It’s your responsibility to fulfill it. It’s your word.

A promise is to give assurance to someone; to agree; to pledge; to commit; a covenant; keeping your word. If you’re not committed, how can you promise? If you don’t promise (or keep your word) how can you trust?

A commitment to a relationship with Jesus guarantees us a successful, fruitful and abundant life. When we make that commitment, it enables us to walk in His ways and keep His commandments.
